Can Candidates Be "Too Honest" During An Interview?

One of our candidate was once rejected because he was being too blunt and transparent during the interview.

Even though it was appreciated by the client, in the end they felt it was perhaps not a good idea to move forward with him.

Do you think there is space for showing our true thoughts in our CV, professional profile or even during the interview?

Or better to play it safe, and make sure we "ace it" by saying what is expected from us?

Is being too honest a good or bad thing?

What do you think?

Below another honest approach I saw recently on another candidate's profile :)
